Arion One of Houston Business Journal’s Best Places To Work 4 Consecutive Years

Arion was recently recognized and distinguished among large companies (100-399 employees) in the Greater Houston Area as one of the Houston Business Journal’s (HBJ) Top Places To Work for 2022. Arion has been fortunate to be named a Best Place To Work and named on HBJ’s The Lists as one of Houston’s Largest Engineering Firms for 4 consecutive years since its inception in 2018.

With 17 other finalists in the large company category and 107 other finalists overall, HBJ revealed final rankings and celebrated all of the finalists at an ‘80s prom-themed awards luncheon this past fall at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Houston. There it was announced that Arion moved up eight places in the rankings from #16 in 2021 to #8 in 2022 in the large company category.

This award is special to us because it’s based on what our employees (aka A-Teamers) think of us! They are surveyed by an objective, Nebraska-based third party called Quantum Workplace in areas such as leadership and goals, support and communication, advancement opportunity and skill development, recognition and compensation, flexibility and tolerance, and embracing innovation and ideas. Quantum scores each area out of 100 and then ranks companies based on their size and scores. In our minds, this helps us know we’re on the right track in keeping with our foundational pillars of People, Performance, and Innovation. Here is how that plays out at Arion.

In 2018, our story began when co-founders Michele McNichol (CEO) and Edmund Lunde (COO) set out to create a company where people are the heart of our business and celebrated as the reason for success. When people are valued and taken care of, they can focus on performing their best work, and our clients reap the benefits. Our A-Teamers also feel confident communicating innovative ideas to company leaders because they are always ready to listen and find ways to improve project performance. This can lead to cost savings and more secure, long-term results for our clients.

It’s an honor to be recognized again as one of Houston’s Best Places To Work, alongside many other incredible finalists. We look forward to another great year in 2023!
