Project Objective

The Topside Replacement Conceptual Study was undertaken to provide a comprehensive conceptual-level design and analysis for a crucial infrastructure upgrade. The primary goal of this study is to lay the foundation for a successful project by delivering essential components, including process simulations, Block Flow Diagrams, Equipment Lists, Equipment General Arrangements, Electrical Load Analysis and One-Line Drawings, Structural Steel Layouts, and Platform Weight Report. Additionally, a Total Installed Cost (TIC) Estimate, Overall Development Schedule, and a Pre-FEED CTR were developed for continuing engineering into the project's next phase.

Project Overview

Conceptual Design: Our project begins with the creation of a robust conceptual design, incorporating process simulations and Block Flow Diagrams. These crucial elements serve as the basis for subsequent project phases.

Equipment and Layout Planning: The project involves a coarse 3D modeling effort, using representative boxes to optimize equipment space utilization, which was tied to the development of the primary structural steel framing.

Weight Estimation: The equipment list is developed with estimated weights derived from historical data and scaled according to process requirements to ensure precision. Structural weight data is extracted from the SACS model. We employ historical factors to determine bulk weights for structural, piping, electrical, and instrumentation components. The Equipment list, in conjunction with the structural model, forms the basis for both weight and cost estimations to support the TIC assessment.

Schedule Development: Our project timeline is constructed using a combination of in-house and industry-proven historical schedule metrics. Additionally, it is aligned with the discovery well activities and projected project sanction targets as outlined in the Concept scope of work.

Project Outcome

The Topside Replacement Conceptual Study culminated in a well-documented and thoroughly analyzed conceptual design, along with an accurate Total Installed Cost Estimate and a comprehensive Overall Development Schedule. These deliverables will provide essential insights and a solid foundation for the subsequent phases of the project, ensuring its successful execution and meeting the envisioned objectives.
